Jul 20, 2013, 12:30 am For the first time in its 39-year history, ARC has recorded at least 100 teams in all four ARC League sessions. In addition, three ARC tournaments went over the 100 mark this basketball season (September 1, 2012 - September 1, 2013), marking the first time ARC has had 7 events of over 100 teams or more. With numbers increasing in every event, and more new exciting events on the horizon, these figures will probably be shattered next season. These momentous participation records would not be possible without the tremendous support provided by all of the players, parents, and coaches that participate in and attend our events. ARC is very gratified for all the support and will do whatever it takes to provide the best programs that will continue to warrant that support. On behalf of all of the ARC Staff: Thank You. Mar 8, 2013, 11:45 pm Boys' basketball: When they were sixth graders There's a group of high school basketball players who came within one point of winning an AAU national championship when many of them were sixth graders in 2008 and traveled to Hampton, Va. Lee Garson (left) was the coach of the Gorillas team that included Parker Jackson-Cartwright of Loyola, Tyler Dorsey of St. John Bosco, Robert Cartwright of Flintridge Prep and Cesar Reyes of Sun Valley Poly. That's a lineup of guards that are off the charts. All figure to be playing college basketball. Back row (left to right): Kenneth Koffi (Agoura), Sam Weintraub (Harvard-Westlake), Marsalis Johnson (Village Christian), Tyler Dorsey (St. John Bosco), Bryan Polan (Harvard-Westlake). Front row (left to right): Darrell Stewart (moved to Georgia and plays for former Campbell Hall Coach Terry Kelly), Dylan Joseph (St. Bernard), Parker Jackson-Cartwright (Loyola), Robert Cartwright (Flintridge Prep), Cesar Reyes (Poly). -- Eric Sondheimer Feb 6, 2013, 11:19 pm Former ARC Players Dominate High School Basketball What happens to the members of ARC Youth Traveling Teams when they get to high school? They dominate, of course. All you have to do is look at the sports pages of local papers, such as the Daily News or the Los Angeles Times, and you will see mention of these players, many times along with pictures. Witness the pictures below featuring Long Beach Poly’s Chris Sullivan and Roschon Prince, who is already signed with USC. Then there is the battle of the Maxes: Freshman Max Heidegger of Crespi and Sophomore Max Hazzard of Loyola. Finally, there is future NBA star, Sophomore Tyler Dorsey of St. John Bosco.
The following is a list of former ARC players who are dominating high school basketball right now.

Kevin started at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, then started four years as a Connecticut point guard, before going to the NBA, where he spent 12 years. He played for the Thunder, Timberwolves, Cavaliers, 76'ers, Bucks, Nets, and Mavericks. In 1990, he formed a dynamic guard duo with Jason Kidd to lead the ARC High School All-Star team to an undefeated year and the National Championship. ARC wishes Kevin the best of luck in his new career, which is guaranteed to be a huge success. Aug 8, 2012, 9:25 pm Former ARC star player Roschon Prince has commiteed to play basketball at USC. Roschon starred on the ARC Traveling Team that finished in the Final Four of the AAU Nationals for a record 5 straight years, including winning a National Championship as 9-year olds. Roschon was the leading scorer and rebounder on that team, and was one of the most dominant youth basketball players in the nation. ARC wishes Roschon continued success in his basketball career at USC, and the whole ARC Nation will be rooting for him to turn the USC program into big winners. Apr 17, 2012, 9:19 pm Dwayne Schintzius, 7-2 center for the 1985 ARC High School National Champions, died this past Sunday at age 43 after a two-year battle against cancer. He was drafted 24th over-all in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs in 1990 and finished his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets. Dwayne was a fun-loving big man and the tallest player to ever play for ARC on a team that featured future NBA Players Don MacLean, Trevor Wilson, Steve Thompson, and Sean Higgins. Dwayne will be missed by the ARC Family, and sends its condolences to the Schintzius Family. Apr 6, 2012, 4:13 pm "MY GAME MY HOOP MY HOODTM"

Mar 16, 2011, 6:40 pm The ARC Spring League in the San Fernando Valley will not begin play until April 3, 2011. This is due to the high volume of participation in the Duel In The Desert Tournament in Palm Springs this weekend, making it impossible for us to devote enough attention to the organization of the Spring League. Jan 17, 2011, 1:33 pm ARC recommends the viewing of the season opener of Parks and Recreation on NBC channel 4, at 9:30 P.M., this Thursday night, January 20th. This youth basketball episode has all of the basketball scenes staged by Rich Goldberg, President of ARC, and is fun to watch for all fans of youth basketball. Rich's Master's Degree is in Radio-Television-Film, and he also works with a lot of casting directors, putting many ARC players in commercials, films, and TV shows. The Steve Nash DVD was made with members from all of the ARC Traveling Teams at the time. Rich also appeared as a referee in two well-known Nike commercials featuring Michael Jordan, Penny Hardaway, and Tyra Banks, among others. Recently, Rich has written two reality TV show concepts, two movie scripts, which he is trying to get made into feature films, and is working on two more scripts (If there are any producers out there looking for new material).
