THE ARC UNIVERSE CONGRATULATES FORMER ARC SUPERSTAR TYLEY DORSEYON BEING DRAFTED BY THE ATLANTA HAWKS OF THE NBA
Jun 23, 2017, 4:54 pm

It was predicted when he was only 8 years of age, but like the 40 former ARC stars who made it to the NBA, Tyler Dorsey has become the 41st to make the prediction come true. It is easy to recognize potential greatness, but that potential does not get realized unless the player has the passion, the desire, and the will to work harder than anyone else to make it happen. We knew that Tyler Dorsey had that greatness, and with his great family support behind him, and the best trainer and motivator in the world, his father, former ARC star player Jerrid Dorsey, we knew he would do it. His ARC teams, his High School teams, and his college team were all big winners. He proved it by being the leading scorer in the nation in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, and he will prove it in the NBA . The best is yet to come. We look forward to Tyler's great career in the NBA.
It will be fun to watch.

 Tyler Dorsey

FORMER ARC STAR SEAN ROOKS PASSSES AWAY
Jun 8, 2016, 7:04 pm

The ARC Universe is mourning the loss of  former star player Sean Rooks, who played 12 years in the NBA and was an all-around good guy. Sean played on a number of ARC All-Star High School Traveling Teams for a number of years in the late 1980’s. In addition, Sean ran the ARC High School League at Chaffey College for a few years when he was still a high school player at Fontana High School. Sean also was a referee in the ARC League program, and coached younger teams in the ARC Leagues. Sean had a keen basketball mind and his coaching was evidence of that, but he also had a very positive manner in motivating young players to do their best, and he was very popular with his players, other coaches, and the ARC staff. Not only the ARC Universe but the whole basketball world mourns the passing of Sean Rooks.

WHAT HAPPENS TO RECENT FORMER ARC STARS AS THEY GET OLDER?

They lead their teams to the NCAA Championships and March Madness

Tyler Dorsey of the University of Oregon and a member of the PAC 12 All Freshmen Team scored 23 points and had 9 rebounds to lead Oregon to the PAC 12 Championship and to a Number One seed at the NCAA Championships. Tyler, a former 7-year ARC Superstar, has scored at least 19 points in his last 4 games and is ready to continue his outstanding all-around play during March Madness. Kendall Small, a former ARC teammate of Tyler’s, is a strong reserve guard on the Oregon team.

Stephen Thompson Jr.,  another former teammate on Tyler’s ARC team, has become a top scorer on his Oregon State team, and has helped lead them to the NCAA Championships.

Derryck Thornton is the dynamic starting point guard at Duke, who led his 9-year old ARC team to the National Championship and was also a member of Tyler’s team.

Bennie Boatwright, still another former member of Tyler’s ARC team, is one of the main reasons USC has turned it around and he has helped lead USC to the National Championships.

Help the ARC 13s Elite go to AAU Nationals
Feb 11, 2016, 5:35 pm

For the last 5 years, the ARC 13s Elite has worked hard to improve their individual and team skills to the point where they can be considered an elite team. This year the team will qualify to participate in the AAU National Championships, July 2-9, in Greensboro, NC .

However, the team consists of players of low income players throughout Southern California and they will not be able to afford the airfare and lodging necessry to attend the national tournament. ARC (American Roundball Corporation) is a non-profit program and tries to make it possible for young players to play even if they can't afford it. Approximately $5,000 per player is needed to make this trip happen and there are 10 players and 3 coaches and various parents to serve as chaperones, so the total needed would be around $50,000.

The exposure that they will receive from this experience will put them on a path to possibly receiving a college scholarship, besides being something they will remember for the rest of their lives. Please make it possible for these young players to afford this life-changing oppurtunity.
