WHO’S COMING:                Take a sizzling hot sun, the dry unforgiving desert, players thirsty for competition, and mix in Southern California’s hottest youth basketball teams, and you will have an unforgettable DUEL IN THE DESERT.      

 

SPECIAL EVENTS             3-point shooting contest for players and coaches

ON FRIDAY NIGHT:           Lay-up, free-throw competition for teams

 

OUTSTANDING FACILITIES:      High School and College Gyms in Palm Desert and Palm Springs.

 

DIVISIONS:  Division I:  All-Star Traveling Teams

Division II:  Local and Secondary Traveling Teams (Boys 14u/8th, Boys 13u/7th, Boys 12u/6th)

 

Boys:  HS All-Star Traveling; HS Varsity; 16u/10th; 15u/9th; 14u/8th; 13u/7th; 12u/6th; 11u/5th; 10u/4th; 9u/3rd, 8u/2nd-    Based on 9/1/08  -  Three grade exceptions will be allowed.

Girls:  HS All-Star Traveling; HS Varsity; 9th Grade/14u; 8th Grade/13u; 7th Grade/12u; 6th Grade/11u; 5th Grade/10u-   Based on 1/1/08.

Men’s and Women’s: 18 and older

 

COST:          

q       ALL  DIVISIONS:    $325 - Credit Cards Accepted

q       Add $5 per player and coach for all teams for insurance unless your teams have sports insurance coverage.

q       All teams need to check in with their rosters before their first game time and have with them all age and grade documentation – birth certificates and report cards or grade exception forms.  All paperwork will be checked.

q       ALL TEAMS ARE GUARANTEED TO PLAY AT LEAST 3 GAMES!

 

DEADLINE:        Entry fees must be in by March 7, 2008 No Exceptions!

Payments may be made by credit card online, credit card by phone or form, or cash. Checks may be made out to San Pedro Knights and received no later than March 7th.

SAN PEDRO KNIGHTS ANNUAL DUEL IN THE DESERT GOLF TOURNAMENT

GOLF SCRAMBLE RULES:

 

RULES: All rules interpretations will be handled and resolved by the Tournament Competition Committee.

 

1.      A scramble means that all four team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark the spot with a tee or ball marker.

2.      The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot.

3.      This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green also.

4.      Putts need to be made within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.

5.      If the ball you choose to play is in a hazard (sand, water, etc.), the rough, or out of bounds, you can not drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.

6.      Men tee off from the white tees and women from the red tees.

7.      TO SPEED PLAY (ALL DAY) PAR IS YOUR FRIEND. ONE (1) PUTT PER PLAPER IS ALLOWED PER GREEN.
Example: Your on the Green In Regulation and miss ONE putt, DO NOT PUTT FOR PAR!  TAKE PAR AS SCORE.
Exception: Your on the Green in 2 on a par 5, you miss one putts, DO PUTT FOR BIRDIE!

8.      Please return all score card to the Pro Shop for scoring.
